Incident round-up

Brighton motorbike fire

Roedean firefighters were called to an incident in Whitehawk Road, after an abandoned motorbike had been set fire to.

One fire engine arrived at the scene at 3.36am Sunday morning (19th August).

The crew remained there for twenty minutes and used one hose reel jet to tackle the fire.

Garden bonfire warning

Quick intervention by Hastings firefighters prevented the spread of a garden bonfire.

A concerned woman contacted East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service after she was unable to control a bonfire in her garden which started to spread to the neighbour’s garden.

However, crews praised the occupant for having a hose to hand as she managed to control the spread of flames until firefighters arrived at the scene, in Leyton Road ,Sunday evening (19th August) at 6.29pm.

Burst water mains sparks call-out

Hastings firefighters were called out in the early hours of Monday (20th August) morning after the water mains to a property burst.

Crews were on hand to isolate the water supply at 1.02am and offered to return to the property at a later date to carry out a Home Safety Visit.

The property in Vicarage Road suffered severe water damage, flooding the electrics.
