Caravan fire in Brighton

A caravan fire at a recreational ground in Brighton is being treated as suspicious.

The abandoned caravan was destroyed by the blaze which broke out at Carden Avenue, Patcham, on Sunday (16th September) at 9.09pm.

Two fire engines from Preston Circus arrived at the scene and tackled the incident with firefighting foam and a hose reel. Crews managed to prevent the spread of fire to nearby trees and bushes.

Crew Commander Alex Probyn said:

“We would urge the public to contact us if they see any suspicious activity and to report any abandoned vehicles to the police, which are often a target for vandalism.”
