Animal rescue - Crowborough

On 25th March at 09.17am, crews from Crowborough and Heathfield attended an animal rescue incident in Burnt Oak, Crowborough, involving an 18 month old mare.
The small horse, who had not been very well,  had fallen over and become trapped in mud. Crowborough crews lifted the horse using the Unimog. The animal rescue team successfully uprighted the horse and waited with the animal, supporting her weight whilst she regained feeling in her feet.
A vet was in attendance at the scene and crews assisted the vet in moving the horse to the stables. The horse was left safely in the care of its owners.
