Fire in Hamsey Crescent, Lewes


On 14th April at 00.31, Lewes crews responded to a fire in a two storey property in Hamsey Crescent, Lewes.

On arrival, crews reported smoke issuing. The fire was well developed and firefighters used four breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a compressed air foam system.

The fire was confirmed on the ground and the first floor. There was also smoke damage to the property next door. Crews used a Positive Pressure Ventilation fan to disperse the smoke.

Firefighters requested Fire Victim Support and a Fire Investigation Officer. One casualty was taken to hospital by Ambulance suffering the effects of smoke inhalation.
