Lewes community fire station invites local families to Open Day

Local families are invited to Lewes community fire station’s Open Day on 18th May between 11.00am – 3.00pm for a free day of fun events.

There will be something for everyone, rescue simulation from the training tower, a simulated car crash rescue, fire appliances and ladders, road and home safety demonstrations, details about East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service’s Black Museum website, which highlights key safety messages from real fires, activities for children including colouring, badge making, word search, design a poster and much more.

Firefighters will be on hand with valuable safety advice alongside, Sussex Police, and Neighbourhood Watch.

Watch Manager, David Washington, said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming the local community to our action filled day. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet local fire fighters and learn about their roles within the community. The team are really looking forward to the Open Day; we’d love to see you and your family there!”

So, come rain or shine, why not spend the day with your local fire fighters and have a spectacular day of fun!
