Brighton firefighters rescue man in fall

Paramedics requested the attendance of East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service to an incident, after a man fell through a false ceiling.

A crew from Preston Circus Community Fire Station were called to The Grapevine, in Middle Street, Brighton, at 9.44am this morning (3rdJune) and remained at the scene until 10.55am.

An Aerial Ladder Platform was also called to the scene and assisted in the rescue of the man who was then taken off to hospital by air ambulance. An extra crew from Brighton were also on hand to assist with the rescue operation.

As well as carrying out the rescue, firefighters stabilised the roof of the building, due to its precarious position when they arrived.
