Children’s Safety Open Days will be held at Newhaven on Monday 24th June and Lewes on Wednesday 26th June, (both from 12.30 – 2.30pm) to promote National Children’s Safety, which will run for the week. We are working closely with Lewes District Children’s Centre and a wide range of partners to ensure we maximise the opportunity to promote Children’s safety to create a safer community for all.
In partnership with the Lewes District Children’s Centre, our events aim to increase awareness of safety issues such as keeping candles, lighters and matches out of children’s reach, setting clear home safety rules for children, information parents on fitting and maintaining smoke alarms, while promoting healthy eating through samples of fresh fruit, vegetables and juice for the children to enjoy. All our Fire Appliances will out on display as well as all station facilities, including a bouncy castle. Our staff will be on hand to ensure a warm welcome is afforded to all visitors and our invitation is open to all member of the family.
