Person rescued from fire in Hastings

On 16th July at 7.51pm, Hastings crews responded to a fire at a property in Stockleigh Road, Hastings. The initial emergency call outlined that a person could still be in the building.

Two appliances from The Ridge and one appliance from Bohemia Road, along with the Aerial Ladder Platform from Bohemia Road responded. The first two appliances arrived at the scene within only three minutes of being mobilised.

On arrival, crews reported smoke issuing from a second floor window and used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to tackle the cooker fire.

One female casualty was rescued by crews and taken to hospital by ambulance, suffering from smoke inhalation.

Crews then ventilated the property using a Positive Pressure Ventilation fan.
