Firefighters prevent diesel spillage entering environment

On 27thAugust at 12.24pm, crews from Lewes responded to a lorry with a ruptured diesel fuel tank at the Cliffe Industrial Estate, Lewes.

Firefighters prevented approximately 300 ltrs of diesel contaminating the environment by the use of containment and Environment Agency absorption packs.

The incident was then handed over to East Sussex County Council Highways Department.

The lorry driver was not injured in the incident.
