East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has again been awarded the Customer Service Excellence (CSE) standard.
In order to achieve the standard an organisation must have services that are “efficient, effective, excellent, equitable and empowering – with the citizen always at the heart of service provision.”
In its report the CSE said:
“Our assessor was pleased that the Service was regularly praised by customers and partners not only for your operational performance but for your willingness to listen to new ideas and your support for community initiatives. During the visit the assessor was impressed by the commitment of staff and the excellent reputation you have in the community.”
The assessor reviewed evidence, went to fire stations, spoke to a range of partners and witnessed the aftermath of a house fire in St. Leonards, where he was able to speak with residents. He also met staff at headquarters.
Chief Fire Officer and Chief Executive Des Prichard said:
“I am delighted that we have again been awarded the Customer Service Excellence standard. This is a testimony to the fantastic work of our staff who are determined to reduce risk to local communities and focus all their energies on public safety.”
