Animal rescue – road traffic collision

On 16th October at 10.49am, crews from Uckfield along with the Animal Rescue Team from Crowborough responded to a road traffic collision at the Copwood Roundabout, Uckfield.

A tractor had been pulling a trailer containing four cattle. On arrival crews found the trailer overturned. Fortunately the four cattle on board were unharmed and standing upright within the overturned trailer.

The owner of the cattle arranged for another trailer to be put into position and crews raised the trailer, using air bags. The Unimog crane from Crowborough was used to lift the internal door inside the trailer allowing the cows to exit into waiting trailer unharmed.
