East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service is reminding members of the public to stay alert as today’s Fire Brigades Union strike continues.
The walkout began at 10am and will end at 5pm (21 June 2014). It’s part of the national dispute over pensions.
Contingency crews are ready to respond to emergencies, prioritising incidents where lives may be at risk.
As of 12.30, one incident was attended by contingency crews – a fence fire in Five Ashes.
Our advice remains if you have a fire, get out, stay out and call 999.
