Strike ends and public are thanked for taking care

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service is thanking the public for taking care during today’s Fire Brigades Union strike (21 June 2014).

The industrial action took place between 10am-5pm as part of the national dispute over pensions.

Contingency crews were on duty and attended three calls:
•A fence fire in Five Ashes
•A report of a car fire in Hastings which turned out to be an RTC
•A car fire in Battle

Normal levels of cover have resumed but with the weather continuing to be fine this weekend, the public’s being asked to remember to stay safe when enjoying BBQs and going out and about on the roads.
