On 6th August at 06.54am, crews responded to a road traffic collision on the A27 Westbound, Lewes, where a car had gone into a ditch after a lorry had overtaken the vehicle on a wet road.
As a result of the excess water spray, the driver had lost control of the vehicle and ended up in a ditch.
Fortunately, the driver was not seriously hurt and was assisted to safety by fire crews.
Lewes Crew Manager, Chris Beagley, said: “The female driver was extremely fortunate to have escaped with minor injuries, although she did sustain a broken arm. In wet conditions, roads can be extra slippy, especially after a dry spell, so please do be extra careful when driving.”
