ESFRS joins in the fun at this weekend’s Brighton Pride

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service is delighted to be taking part in this weekend’s Brighton Pride event (2nd August) and be involved in the procession.

Each year ESFRS staff attend this annual event, alongside other fire and rescue services from across the country in a show of support for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

The idea behind the service’s involvement is to drive forward the shared value of equality and inclusion in all that the fire service does.

An expected 16,000 participants and spectators are hoped to join in this year’s event on the streets of Brighton, in solidarity and a show of support to those global LGBT communities whose basic right to party and live freely is denied.

This year’s light-hearted and fun theme is ‘The World’s a Disco!’ Being gay, bisexual or transgender is not a requirement to attend but what is a prerequisite is the ability to join in the fun celebrations.
