Firefighters from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called out to reports of smoke coming from the roof of a property in Rye at 21.13 on 14 August 2014.
Crews from Broadoak and Rye were sent to a home on South Undercliff.
Everyone in the terraced house was accounted for.
Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and a hose reel to tackle the fire, which was on the ground floor.
They then spent time cutting away and damping down.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
