Fire Chief follows in the footsteps of David Beckham and gets wet for charity

Chief Fire Officer & Chief Executive Des Prichard has fulfilled his promise of taking part in the Macmillan Ice Bucket Challenge.

The footage in which he nominates Fire Service College Director of Training and Organisational Development Jon Hall, Hertfordshire’s Chief Fire Officer Roy Wilsher, as well as his son Ben Prichard is now available online to view via dropbox.

Mr Prichard was keen to get involved to help raise money for the worthy cause to help people affected by cancer, after he was nominated to take part by a firefighter within the Service.

The challenge is simple; just nominate someone via Facebook or Twitter to have a bucket of ice-cold water poured over their head in exchange for a text donation to Macmillan.

The idea is to film it then share it and sit back whilst the nomination process takes over.

Mr Prichard said: “I know there is a fun element to this challenge which is currently sweeping across social media. However, there is a serious reason behind this challenge and I would urge people to take the time to visit Macmillan Cancer Support’s website page and donate what they can to the charity.”
