On the 20th of September 2014, a crew from Uckfield Community Fire Station will be under-taking a world record challenge whilst holding a local charity fun day at the station.
The fire-fighters from Uckfield will attempt to beat the world record of the most vertical distance down a fireman's pole in one hour. Current world record holders are Green watch from Hove who managed to travel 5,240 vertical metres (17,191 ft).
The day will run from 1000-1400 with the record attempt running from 1200-1300.
Other activities planned include face painting, a penalty shoot-out, a hog roast and BBQ, toy stalls, cakes, a bouncy castle and an appearance by the Uckfield Singers.
Local charities are being invited to have a stall at the station and raise money for their individual charities after making a small donation to the Firefighter’s Charity.
If you would like to find out more please ring 0303 999 1000 and ask to be put through to Uckfield Fire Station.
