Man treated for smoke inhalation after Brighton flat fire

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called out at 15.28 yesterday afternoon (25 August 2014) to reports of a fire in a high rise building in Brighton.

It was on the 7th floor of a block of flats on Hereford Street in Kemp Town.

Crews from Preston Circus, Roedean and Hove attended.

There was a fire in a kitchen.

Firefighters used breathing apparatus to tackle the fire, and a thermal imaging camera to ensure it was fully put out. A fan was then used to clear the smoke.

One man was treated for smoke inhalation.
