One incident attended during todays lunchtime strike

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has returned to normal cover following a two hour strike at lunchtime today (12 August 2014).

It was part of the ongoing national dispute over pensions involving the Fire Brigades Union and Government.

Contingency crews attended an incident in Bexhill; reports of a person locked out of their home, with a grill on inside the property.

Members of the public are still being urged to remain vigilant during this week’s FBU strike action.

We have just launched our latest Text Tales campaign, giving advice on how to keep safe during the summer months. Take a look at our safety messages here and feel free to download our posters, which you can display to help spread these messages and keep our communities safe.

The next strike takes place at 22.59 tonight.
