East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has paid tribute to the victims of the September 11th 2001 terrorist attacks, by holding a minute’s silence.
The mark of respect was held outside Service Headquarters at 13.46 hours and at fire stations, exactly thirteen years on from the atrocity.
The attacks were a series of coordinated strikes in New York City and the Washington, D.C. areas.
Sadly, an estimated 2,750 people lost their lives.
343 New York City firefighters died trying to save others.
