Fun for all the family at Bexhill

Exciting steam railway rides will be on offer at Bexhill’s Open Day this weekend, along with free burgers for 100 people.

This Saturday (20th September), between 10am to 4pm, Bexhill firefighters will be on hand to entertain local families with everything from face painting to demonstrations.

A kitchen chip pan demonstration will illustrate the dangers of cooking with fat, along with a crash chair cradle - a real eye opener by showing the mild effect of being in an accident.

A voucher for a free burger will be given out thanks to a local organisation, if you stop and chat to Sussex Police.

Come and meet Community groups including; Neighbourhood Watch, Street Pastors, Specials, Cadets and Community Speedwatch will be on-hand to support East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service.

Crew Manager Dean Mcfaite said: “We hope the day will see members of our community visiting their local station members and gain a little insight into what we do and who we are.

“Also, visitors will have a chance to meet and greet volunteer groups in the style of 'speed dating' to give them the chance to spend a couple of minutes asking questions about the work that they do. The aim is to boost recruitment for these groups."

There will be plenty of refreshments available on the day and Bexhill’s firefighters will be delighted to meet local residents.

Address: Bexhill Community Fire Station, Beeching Road, Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex, TN39 3LG.
