A fire investigation is underway this morning following an incident at a property in Crowborough.
Eight crews were mobilised to a semi-detached house in Rannoch Road last night (4th January) at 9.52pm.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze with two hose reel jets, two main jets and 1-in-7 foam.
The fire broke out on the ground-floor and quickly spread through to the roof area. Relief officers and crews were sent to the incident at 3am and 5am respectively.
The incident has now been scaled down to three pumps but is still on-going and fire investigators are currently at the scene.
One female resident was accounted for at the scene and given oxygen therapy.
The Command Support Unit along with the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were both mobilised. The HART team provides medical care to patients in a hazardous or ‘hot’ environment. These teams often use specialist equipment and work alongside firefighters.
