Members of the public are being reminded of the importance of taking preventative measures and knowing who they should call if they see things like blocked drains.
Incidents
09:05 – reports of flooding at a shop on Hangleton Link Road
in Hove. We attended. No action was needed and the incident was left in the
hands of the shop management who had made the area safe.
09:10 – reports of flooding in at Earls Down in Dallington.
We attended and used a light portable pump to help remove water from a property.
09:29 – reports of flooding at Beacon Road in Ditchling. We
attended, carried out salvage work and gave assistance to property
occupants.
09:45 – reports of flooding affecting electrics on New Road
in Lewes. We used a pump to remove water from a property.
10:04 – reports of flooding at The Street in Lewes. We
attended and gave advice.
10:06 – reports of persons trapped in water in Herstmonceux.
On arrival at the scene on Hailsham Road, we confirmed that no-one was trapped.
10:13 – reports of flooding at Woodlands Close in Hailsham.
Flooding was affecting electrics and we used pumps.
10:19 – reports of flooding at Amberstone Place in Amberston.
We used a submersible pump to tackle flood water in a property.
10:21 – reports of flooding affecting electrics in Wickham
Lane, Cooksbridge. We attended and diverted water and undertook salvage
activities.
10:30 – reports of flooding at Pembroke Close in Hailsham.
We attended and confirmed a number of properties were affected.
10:31 – reports of flooding in Battle Road, Hailsham. We
attended and confirmed water had been redirected to a storm drain.
10:38 – reports of flooding affecting electrics at Butts
Field in Hailsham. We attended and confirmed water was not affecting electrics
but the road was flooded and approximately 6 properties were affected.
10:45 – reports of persons trapped by water in Bexhill. We attended
West Court Drive. On arrival, it was confirmed two members of the public who were in a car had made
it to safety.
10:56 – reports of flooding at Ashley Gardens, Amberston.
Efforts were made to redirect flood water. Multiple properties were
made safe.
10:50 – reports of flooding at a property on the A22 at
Lower Dicker. We attended and advice given.
11:00 – reports of flooding affecting electrics at Hawkswood
Drive in Hailsham. No action was taken as water was not affecting electrics.
11:05 – reports of flooding at Cooksbridge We attended an address on Wickham Lane. No action
was taken but advice was given.
11.26 – reports of flooding affecting electrics at Rosemary
Lane in Fairlight. Utilities were isolated by crews. A nearby river has burst its banks between
Fairlight Pett and Pett Level.
11:29 – reports of a vehicle trapped in water on Mill Lane
in Laughton. We attended but there was no sign of a vehicle – false alarm.
11:48 – reports of a car trapped in water at Arlington. We
attended and efforts were made to tow a vehicle to safety. Two people were
rescued.
11:51 – reports of flooding at a property on Polegate Road
in Hailsham. We attended and have advice.
12:00 – reports of flooding at a property on the A22 in
Hailsham. We attended. Water was in the property and so we took action to make
the property safe.
